The Bavarian Higher Education Innovation Act (BayHiG, Article 24, Paragraph 2) regulates the role of the university’s Disability Officer:

“The university shall appoint a person from among the full-time employees of the university to act as a representative for the interests of students with disabilities or chronic illnesses and to work to ensure that they are not disadvantaged in their studies.”
